Blender 2.44 has been released

The latest release of Blender has just been released, Version 2.44 was supposed to be just a bug release, but some new functions have been added. Here are some of the features of this current release. The most important one for some is the support for 64bit systems.

- Cast Modifier
Other Additions and Fixes
- Subsurface scattering is a new material option to render materials like skin, marble or Milk.
- Two new Composite Nodes have been added.
- Character Animation, The action and NLA editors have now got better control over visible channels. A New constraint was added and a preview range option was also added.
- Physics Engine, the bullet physics engine has had some changes which should give better reproducibility and precision/quality for physics simulations.
- The Mesh Primitives have been revisited, improving their usability and pushing them a little beyond their previous state.
- As well as many other bug fixes.
